What was your LSAT experience?
This question is for people who have already taken the LSAT. How much of a change did you notice between the first practice LSAT you took (probably taken from the back of an LSAT prep book before you began studying) and the official score you received after all of your studying? What study methods did you find most helpful in improving your scores? If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?
I recently took a practice test without any kind of studying and scored a 151. How much of an improvement can I realistically expect once I start to really study for this? Are the classroom prep courses worth the big bucks?
I had a score increase that was in the double digits, so I know it can be done. However, I studied a lot: books, a Powerscore course, and a little bit of tutoring. The course was the most helpful because it had structure and a lot of homework.
If I could do it all over again I would take the course sooner than I did, because I think that would have gotten me prepared earlier, and with perhaps a little bit less work. It was expensive, but it was worth it.
I don't really know how much you can go up, but I do know that the harder you work, the better your chances of scoring well.
The best way to study for the LSAT is to practice using official LSAC preptests. Unfortunately, the testing environment at your actual LSAT will be nothing like the setting in which you take these prep tests...
