Where can I find pro se information to file for divorce in Texas?
I am a domestic violence victim, cannot connect with local shelter but need to file. I found a book at the library but it did cover anything I needed to know. Main point: Can I file and have my residence address confidential without an attorney? It is possible in other states, how about Texas? Can I file for divorce and turn in other pleadings as I research them and complete them or does everything have to family law file clerk at one time?
Do an online search for your state statues and when you find them, search on that site for address confidentiality. This will give a basic understanding of the laws concerning this. If you just left a dv situation file for a protection order (not sure what it is acalled in TX where I live it is an injunction). You can file to have your address confidential in the restraining order if TX offers it. See below for statutes.
