Legal question about getting married...?
My boyfriend has a few items on his credit report, they are hospital bills that were already paid but were still reported to a collections agency. While we are trying to get this removed, I am concerned that if we get married, will his debt automatically become my debt? Can the collections agency come after me?
How will his low credit score affect me?
Also, he works under the table. What will happen if we were to try and file tax returns. Does it have to be a joint tax return? He hasn't paid into taxes for the last few years but is planning on getting back on the books in the next year or two.

your credit score will not be affected, just because you married him. the collections agency does not hold you responsible for his debts, just because you are married to him.
If he works under the table and has not filed any taxes as long as he's been working under the table, then the best thing to do, is to file back taxes starting from the year he began to work -- the sooner the better. Otherwise the gov't will eventually catch up to him, especially if he will soon be on the books, and it'll be much more trouble then.
