Since cons hate government so much why do they support big brother and big momma government?
They want big brother government to watch over them (Patriot Act, warrantless wiretapping, 24 hour camera surveillance on city streets)
And
They want big momma government to tell them how to live their lives based on their fundie right-wing interpretation of christianity.
Specific Recent Examples: using government to oppose California's medical marijuana's laws, Oregon's right to die laws, and Massachusett's gay marriage laws.
Other examples: Using gov't to censure or ban sex on tv, books they disagreed with (think red scare), stem cell research, a women's right to an abortion, strip clubs, porn mags, etc.
And in the past... interracial marriage, invitro feritlization, and birth control pills.
Surveillance of the enemy in time of war is hardly big government; it is required by the Constitution.
The other laws you cite, drugs, abortion, euthenasia, rampant sex with strangers, these are the credos of today's Liberal thought...hedonism...and ultimately the things that make them sick.
